Race Description
Sprint Distance
The sprint-distance triathlon is a 750 meter swim, 22k cycle and a 7k run. It will be held in Kilalloe, Co. Clare. The swim will be held in Lough Derg. The transition is around the Twomilegate area of the lake. The bike section is on the Kilalloe to Tuamgraney road. Finally, the run will either be held in the nearby Ballycuggaran woods.
For safety reasons the event is limited to 400 entrants, including 50 relay teams. Relay teams can comprise of either two or three people.
The online entry will be done through Triathlon Ireland. The race registration will be held in "Flanagan's on the Lake", Ballina, Killaloe on Friday the 5th of August from 7pm to 9pm, and on the 6th of August from 9am to 11:30am.
Triathlon Ireland membership cards and one day license certificates will be checked at registration. All competitors will be required to sign a disclaimer and a swim proficiency declaration during registration.
Competitors with any medical conditions will be required to inform us at the time of registration.
Olympic Distance
The sprint-distance triathlon is a 1500 meter swim, 46k cycle and a 10k run. It will be held in the same venue as the sprint-distance race and has the same swim & bike course (with an extra lap added). The run will be on a road surface in the same direction as the cycle route. More details are available by looking through the course maps.
